TUITION AND ADJUSTMENTS
Rede is a tuition-based private academy. Tuition is set at the point where monies received by the academy offset monthly expenses for salaries, benefits, professional development, programs, space, equipment, supplies and so on. Adjusted tuition is calculated based on a family’s unique financial profile (see details in the section below).

The Enrollment Fee (one month's tuition amount as calculated over ten months) is required to secure a space.

Tuition can be paid by check, money order or credit card. A fee of approximately 3% is charged to credit card payments (the fee covers the credit card service fee charged).
*While we're building our scholarship fund, tuition can be paid on a 12-month payment schedule.
TUITION ADJUSTMENTS
Tuition adjustments create both access and affordability for families and in a sustainable way for the academy. Families who wish to be considered for a tuition level below the tuition rate submit a Tuition Adjustment Request for review and consideration at the same time as submission of the Application for Admission. HOW IS A FAMILY'S TUITION ADJUSTMENT CALCULATED?
The Tuition Adjustment Committee takes reviews each family’s situation individually. Many factors in a family's profile are reviewed and include things such as income, expenses, family size, and any expenses related to the learner. Since family circumstances vary widely, differences in financial circumstances other than income often result in families with similar incomes having different financial need.
IS MY FINANCIAL INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL?
Yes. Any financial information submitted is held in strict confidence. All decisions concerning tuition adjustments are confidential agreements between a family and Rede Academy and we request that details of these agreements not be discussed publicly to preserve that confidentiality.
DOES SUBMITTING A REQUEST FOR AN ADJUSTED TUITION RATE AFFECT A FAMILY'S APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION?
No, applications for admission are evaluated separately on their own merit and by the Admissions Committee. The TAC (Tuition Adjustment Committee) receives the requests for tuition adjustments.
WHEN WOULD I KNOW WHAT THE AMOUNT OF MY FAMILY'S TUITION WOULD BE?
When we notify an applicant that we are able to offer them admission, the admission decision notification also includes all details concerning tuition and expenses.
SHOULD A FAMILY WHO WOULD LIKELY NOT QUALIFY IN A TRADITIONAL NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP SYSTEM BUT THAT HAS A CHILD(REN) WITH A DISABILITY OR LEARNING DIFFERENCE REQUEST A TUITION ADJUSTMENT?
Yes, many factors in a family's profile are reviewed, including additional family expenses and any expenses related to the applicant.
DOES THE ACADEMY PARTICIPATE IN STATE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING PROGRAMS?
Rede does not participate in or accept funding from the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship program. We do not receive state or federal funding and we're not constrained by 'how it's always been done.'
WILL ALL FAMILIES WHO REQUEST A TUITION ADJUSTMENT RECEIVE IT?
We are building our tuition adjustment fund and our capacity to provide adjusted tuition in a given year is limited. Contact us if you are interested in learning more about the availability of tuition adjustment funding.
IF A FAMILY DOES NOT RECEIVE ADJUSTED TUITION WHEN INITIALLY APPLYING, CAN THE FAMILY REQUEST ADJUSTED TUITION IN FUTURE YEARS?
Yes, the Academy reviews requests from returning families.
OTHER THAN TUITION, WHAT CONTRIBUTES TO THE REMAINDER OF THE FUNDS TOWARDS THE COST OF A REDE EDUCATION?
Additional revenue comes from fees and some of our extended learning opportunities as well as support from the our partners/donors and our greater community through annual campaigns.
